Man charged with murder, robbery and more

New Jersey residents who read or listen to local news stories can often get confused. On one hand, the law indicates that people accused of crimes are innocent until proven guilty. On the other hand, the way the news often presents stories of criminal arrests or accusations, it can easily seem like defendants are all but considered guilty from the moment they are arrested.

Such is the case with one recent report of a man who is now facing multiple criminal charges including one for murder in the first degree. The defendant is accused of going to the residence of another man with the intent to steal from him. While at the man's home, the defendant is then said to have shot the homeowner multiple times, leading to his death. The shooter supposedly stole some items and a truck in which he left the home.

No details were given as to what in the investigation made authorities believe that the defendant committed the crimes alleged nor is it known what made reports state the man was intent on robbing the house. The man who was killed was a previous employer of the defendant. In addition to murder, the defendant faces weapons, robbery and other charges as well.

People who have been arrested for any type of crime in New Jersey may wish to talk with an attorney. This may provide opportunitites to learn how a defense process works.
