Psychological study shows evidence for false confessions

Many people believe that some wrongful conviction cases in New Jersey are the result of false confessions. A recent study that was published in a journal of the Association for Psychological Science has now established lab-based evidence for the idea that unethical interview techniques can make people confess to crimes they did not actually commit. In addition to confessing, innocent participants in the study developed detailed false memories about the imagined events.

Pedestrian killed in alleged DWI crash

A DWI crash in New Jersey left one Camden man dead and another charged with causing the death of a pedestrian in an incident that happened in October 2014. A Camden County prosecutor's office representative said the defendant posted bail after he was taken into custody.

New Jersey man accused of series of robberies is now in custody

An 18-year-old Newark man has been detained by police for his alleged role in a string of armed robberies throughout Essex County, according to reports. Police believe he is one of three men who robbed a Hillside Place resident as he was sitting in a parked car in his driveway around 8:25 p.m. on Dec. 28. One of the men was armed with a shotgun and ordered the victim to exit his car and get on the ground. The trio then reportedly stole the victim's wedding band and iPhone and ran away.
