What is arson?

Residents of New Jersey may be interested to know that arson is defined as deliberately setting fire to buildings or property for detrimental or fraudulent purposes. Because this crime has a high potential to cause death, serious injury or extensive property damage, many jurisdictions prosecute arson as a felony offense. The legal penalties for arson can vary based on the extent of the damage that the fire causes.

2 New Jersey men taken into custody after robbery

A 23-year-old man and a 25-year-old man from Magnolia were taken into custody on Oct. 31 after allegedly robbing a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint. According to police, the driver had just finished making a delivery near Potter Street in Haddonfield when the alleged robbery occurred. During the incident, one of the men reportedly pulled a black handgun out and pointed it at the driver, and the two men then fled with an unreported amount of cash.
