Mom: I did not strike my child's classmates

Politician accused of writing $400,000 in bad checks

A 52-year-old New Jersey assemblyman has been accused of presenting bad checks in the amount of $400,000 to two investors who he asked to support his business, which he represented as engaged in military contracting. Second degree felony charges are currently pending in court as a result of the alleged bad checks, with the defendant being given an opportunity to present his criminal defense.

Woman and her mother accused of stealing school district funds

A woman and her mother are accused of felonies resulting in the theft of approximately $565,000 from two New Jersey school districts. Authorities claim that they falsely authorized payments from district funds to bus companies which did not exist. The 39-year-old woman worked as a supervisor and transportation manager for the Hazlet and Piscataway school districts.

Female motorist accused of drunk driving

A female motorist from Asbury, New Jersey, has been accused of drunk driving, resulting in a single vehicle accident. She allegedly lost control of her car, which caused it to veer off the road. The vehicle came to a halt in a ditch near an embankment. The 40-year-old driver was traveling with a 5-year-old passenger, and is also accused of failing to put the girl in a car seat.
